The Airedale Terrier is a strong, wiry, medium-sized dog. originally bred in the Aire valley in Yorkshire, England, the Airedale is the largest member of the terrier family. He is sometimes called the “King of Terriers” because of his size. The Airedale has a rough, wiry outer coat and a soft, dense undercoat. The coat is black and tan, or grizzle and tan, and is about two inches long. The Airedale is an active, energetic dog who needs plenty of daily exercises.
